Is the company fully insured and licensed?
Any company that will be providing you with a quote for your project should have no problem providing their insurance and license number upon request. If you do not receive this information on the spot, or on your formal quote, this company most likely is not licensed or insured. At Petitti Painting we have been licensed and insured since opening.
Do they have employees or hire subcontractors?
Some companies use subcontractors to complete their jobs. Bringing in subcontractors can be very messy sometimes as there is no way to ensure quality work is being done on each job. Also, with subcontractors comes the risk of bringing in many different workers into your home each day of the job. What we recommend is to go with a contractor who has a team of employees. At Petitti Painting we are building a team everyday that is dedicated to achieving the highest customer service and quality workmanship.
Do they have great reviews?
Great reviews can tell a lot about the company you choose to go with. At Petitti Painting we are committed to delivering a 5 Star experience to each and every clients home we are in. Whether this is your first time hiring a professional painter or your second, these reviews bring a lot of value and can tell you the type of company you are bringing into your home. Check out our client reviews and see for yourself the value our team brings every project!
Do they value products used?
Check in on the products your painter is telling you they will use for the project. A high-quality paint can make all the difference for a job for things like durability, performance, and color retention. Not just the paint is important, but also primers used, the right caulking, and the prep work in between. For example, when removing wallpaper, is the contractor going to seal the walls with the correct primer to ensure old glue spots do not reactivate? At Petitti Painting we use only premium products on all of our projects to ensure your home is taken care of the correct way.
Do they provide a properly formatted quote?
Make sure your contractor is providing a formally written or typed out quote that is specific to the job being quoted. Are two coats of paint specified on the quote? Is caulking and proper prep work going to be done for the project? These little things should be written out so that both you and your contractor know exactly what is going on and to hold accountability when a final walk through is being done. We like to make sure our clients expectations are exceeded when we provide quotes, and provide the 5 star experience we preach.
